frequently asked questions

WHAT’S YOUR DEAL WITH TRAVEL?

Bringing my film cameras abroad is one of my biggest joys! I’m absolutely open to travelling to fulfill your photography needs. Travel rates vary - please inquire for a specific quote.

Travel rates do not apply to sessions in Vancouver, BC - my home base.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK YOU?

For weddings, I appreciate as much notice as possible! I book most weekend weddings between 7 months and 1.5 years prior to the wedding date. Elopements, especially weekday ones, are typically booked a bit more last minute - around 3-6 months in advance. If you’re last minute booking, please inquire anyways! There’s always a chance I have your date available.

All other photo sessions can be booked any time. If you have a specific date in mind, please inquire ASAP to ensure I can accommodate.

do you offer retouching services?

No. I’ll remove a blemish, bruise, or minor stain but do not offer any other retouching. I aim to photograph your natural form.

WHAT’S YOUR TURNAROUND TIME?

My turnaround time is 2 weeks for photo sessions and 2-4 weeks for wedding galleries.

HOW WILL MY PHOTOS BE DELIVERED?

Once your photos are ready for viewing, I will send you the link to a private, online gallery from which you can download your photos. If we shot any polaroids, I’ll take them home with me to scan then I’ll email the digitals & snail mail the physical copies.

do you offer printing services?

I do! Please inquire with me for more details about my print pricing + packages.

DO YOU ONLY SHOOT FILM?

Film is my passion + priority - but I do sometimes offer digital photography services too. Please inquire with me for more information.

WHAT KIND OF FILM DO YOU WORK WITH?

Most of my work is made with Kodak 35mm film

I also shoot with Polaroid 600 film

and various Kodak Super 8 films (video)

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE?

Natural, nostalgic, + fun

The prompting/posing of clients is an art in itself! I would describe my shooting style as a middle ground between posed and candid. I do typically pose the folks in front of my camera but because I like my photos to feel natural (and more than anything, I want my clients to feel comfortable) I keep things as non-structured as possible and try to base my posing off your natural mannerisms.

My editing style is very minimal - one of my favourite things about film is how naturally rich the colours are! There’s typically no need for colour adjustments so any edits I make to film photos are things like cropping, lighting tweaks, or removing a distraction in the background, etc…
